Steve Huggard Tells the Boston Herald that Whitey Bulger Faces Long Odds in Appeal Based on Immunity Claim

August 13, 2013 - Steve Huggard a former top public-corruption prosecutor in the US attorney’s Boston office, discussed how James “Whitey” Bulger’s bid to overturn his convictions on the grounds that a now-deceased federal prosecutor gave him a license to kill is highly unlikely to succeed in the Boston Herald. In the article, "Experts: Appeal Based on Immunity Claim a Long Shot," Huggard said, “It’s a very thin reed that he had at all, to say he had immunity from murder. His goal is to prove that he has some deal with Jerry O’Sullivan. The problem he has there is he never really said what that deal was.”
